This article in the NY Times shared some lovely telescope photos of space that also make you nauseous at their frightening scale!
Jenny Offill’s Weather, which I strangely found and picked up at, of all places, the Dollar Tree, was so good and weird and oblique and felt very much like a me kind of book and not because the narrator was a librarian. It captures a sense of uncertainty and climate anxiety and the depressed resignation of just-trying-to-make-it that really resonates with me.
I’ve been really into checking the titles (if not the actual contents) of my Spotify daylist throughout the day. Supposedly it’s curated based on your listening habits at certain times and/or on certain days. But mostly I’m just tickled by the MadLibs-style titles of the playlists. (You can find yours by searching “daylist” on Spotify.)
Last night I saw Poor Things, which I immediately christened “The Barbie movie for freaky weirdos,” and on the drive home I read this piece from The Cut that analyzed the two together in a way I mostly appreciated. There are lots of things to be praised about this film, but the chief of them is the costuming. Every scene had fantastic(al) garments that really blew me away.
OK that’s it love you bye merry Christmas!!!!!
